Lesson Terms and Policies

A reminder that this needs to be completed prior to music lessons commencing


1.  Communication & Media

1.1 Contact: The preferred method of contact is via email as phones are generally not accessible during lessons or in use after hours. You will also receive communication, important information and lesson updates via email.

1.2 Email Newsletter: Occasionally information is sent out via an email newsletter. These generally contain a summary of lessons and contain important information for the term ahead. You are welcome to opt out of this at any time.

1.3 Marketing Images: Occasionally images or videos from lessons may be taken and/or used for marketing purposes. All images are used in accordance with the legal guidelines and e-safety practices. (N.B. Images of children under 16 are not used for marketing purposes without specific consent from legal guardian)

2. Individual Lessons:

2.1 Recording Lessons: You are welcome to make an audio recording of lessons on any device. You may record a portion of the lesson or lesson in entirety but are not permitted to distribute or repurpose the material for any reason other than private practice. 

2.2 Lesson Times + Lateness: Lessons run close to or on time so please make sure you arrive a few minutes beforehand (either in person or in online waiting room). If you are late to a lesson by more than 5 minutes unfortunately that time is forfeited however all effort will be made to make up that time during the scheduled lesson if possible.

3. Cancellations & Reschedules

3.1 Cancellations: Cancellations must be communicated in writing via email at least 24hrs prior to the lesson commencement. Text messages are not accepted as cancellations messages as phones are not checked during teaching hours.

3.2 Last Minute Cancellations & No-Shows: Unfortunately, lessons that are missed or cancelled with less than 24hrs notice are forfeited lessons and will incur the standard lesson fee.  

3.3 Reschedules and Make Up lessons: Lessons that are cancelled or rescheduled ahead of time will be made up at a mutually agreed upon time or a credit given towards the following lesson.

4. Lesson Payment:

4.1 Payment: Lessons payment must be made in advance of your lesson under the following conditions:

4.1.1  Regular weekly/fortnightly lessons: An invoice is sent out at the start of the term (school-aged lessons) or a specified amount is charged to your payment method according to your lesson package and subscription (adult lessons). Payment of invoices is required within 14 days of issue and missed payments may result in lesson cancellations unless prior arrangements have been made. If you prefer to pay for lessons individually, please make contact us via email and arrange this separately.

4.1.3. Monthly, Casual or Drop-In Lessons: Lessons are scheduled individually through the online booking system or by request and payment is required at the time of booking and no later than 24hrs prior to lesson commencement.

4.2 Late or Missed Payments: If you require additional time to pay for your lessons that is completely understandable, however we kindly ask that you email a request to avoid confusion.  Failure to pay for lessons will result in a cancellation.

5. Holidays & Termination

5.1 Holidays: If you plan to take holidays during the school term, we kindly ask for a minimum of 2 weeks notice for both regular and casual lessons.

5.2 Termination of Lessons: If you wish to discontinue lessons we kindly ask for a minimum of 3 weeks notice prior to the end of the teaching term or your last lesson. Those on an ongoing monthly package can cancel anytime after the initial 3 month period is complete.
